I thought it would be an important part of the Playpen community to begin keeping in touch with our clients, guests and friends with a monthly newsletter. Each month our newsletter will be forwarded via email with articles on training, diet, health and general pet care information. It will also include information of what is going on here at The Playpen, pictures of some of our honoured guests, some "funnies" and information that we feel is important for our clientelle to know. Christmas is just around the corner, it is our third Christmas in business and I am forecasting it is going to be a busy one. Right now, we are booked up for most kennel dates around Christmas (Please phone us to check if we can accommodate your travel plans). We can put you on a waiting list, as we usually do have clients cancel for unforeseen reasons. However, we do have plenty of time and space to fit your canine friend in for a groom. If you want your pet in for a "fluff and buff" for the holiday season, please give us a call for an appointment 250 426 4000

For our kennel clients, your pet has probably received one of our Thank You cards each time they visit. While we certainly do appreciate you as a client and seeing your loved ones, we have decided that we are not helping in our environmental cause. We send out hundreds of cards a year and with that, we feel that we should be more environmentally conscience and limit our paper usage. Again, we do THANK YOU for being wonderful clients and we love all of your pets, however, we do love our environment as well and will be ceasing sending out our thank you cards.

During the weekend of November 13-14/2010, all of The Playpen staff attended a Pet First Aid seminar offered by Penny Korethoski of P.E.T.S. (In conjunction with Walks n. Wags Pet Care) All The Playpen staff are now certified Pet First Aiders.

Have you heard about our Referral Program? We have a lot of great repeat clients, however, we always love seeing new ones. If you refer a kennel or day care client, you receive one night in our kennel FREE (new client must advise of the referral on their first visit, free night not valid during holiday seasons or long weekends, free night is valued at $20.00)

Are you feeling guilty because 'Fluffy' is being left all alone while you are off at work? Why not bring your loved one to The Playpen for a fun filled day of play and companionship. We offer daycare Monday to Friday 8a.m. to 5p.m. Daycare is $15.00 per day, join our Playpen Daycare club (no extra fee) and receive every 7th visit for FREE. (current vaccinations required)

Want to see your pets name and picture in lights? Every month, beginning January 2011, we will be featuring one of our clients in our newsletter and using their picture in our advertising in The Kootenay News Advertiser. Not only will they be "famous", your pet will receive a "doggy bag" filled with goodies courtesy of The Playpen. How do you win? Just send us a picture of your loved one and tell us about your experience here at The Playpen. Draws will be made at random and the "winners" will be contacted prior to distribution of the advertising.
