Clean and Comfortable Accommodations

Our guests are kept in a clean, bright well-ventilated facility with ongoing supervision and playtime.

• Outdoor playtime in 11 ‘roomy’ outside runs & over 40,000 sq feet of play space

• “Yappy Hour” with complimentary all natural pet treats
• Have your pet picked up groomed and fluffy when you pick them up!!  Please book in your grooming appointment when making your original kennel reservation.

Food and personal belongings

We request that you provide your own pet food.  We have found that maintaining your pet on the same diet they are used to reduces stress on their system and makes your dog feel at home.  Please prepare each meal in separate baggies so we can dispense the food accordingly at meal time.  Medication can be administered at an extra cost. ($2.00 per medication per day)

Please feel free to bring a familiar clean bed or blanket to make your loved one feel more at home. A toy or chewie are also welcome, no fresh bones or treats please. No need to bring your own bowls… we have plenty.

Check in – Check out times

We are open Monday – Friday 8a.m. – 5p.m.  Drop off and pick up are welcome anytime during our regular business hours.  Our facility operates like a hotel.  If you pick up your loved one after 1p.m. you will be charged for that day.
Weekend and holiday drop off and pick up are by appointment only, between 8am and 5pm. If you arrive earlier or later than your scheduled appointment an extra fee may be added to your account at the discretion of The Playpen Staff.
Special arrangements may be made on a case by case basis for after hours pick up and drop off.

If you require changes to your weekend or holiday pick up or drop off time, The Playpen Pet Boarding and Grooming must be informed by the Friday before at noon at the latest. Changes that are requested with minimal notice will be permitted at the discretion of The Playpen staff.

Dog Boarding Features

All kennels are fully enclosed within our 1200 square foot state of the art building.  This is a safe and clean environment that allows for continual interaction between your dog and our staff!

Group playtimes are a highlight at the Playpen Pet Boarding & Grooming.  If your pet is more of an introvert, arrangements will be made for individual play time.

We offer an “old timers suite” for quiet and privacy.  A sound resistant room, complete with it’s own t.v.

Our interior playroom for our smaller guests makes for great interaction.  They will love the pet cots, homey space, toys and perhaps a viewing of “101 Dalmatians” or “Lady and the Tramp!!”

We require all of our canine visitors to be completely up to date in their vaccinations.  Vaccinations required are: Distemper, Parvo, Hepatitis, Rabies and Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

Our introductory rates for boarding your canine loved one are $20 per night.  A family of 2 is $35, a family of 3 is $45.  Family rates only apply if guests stay in the same kennel.

Cat boarding features

Our “Cat Cottage” is a must see!  This fully serviced stand alone cabin offers a sanctuary for your cats holiday. 

No need to bring you own kitty litter, we will provide that at no charge…and we change it daily!!

We require all of our feline visitors to be completely up to date in their vaccinations. Vaccinations required are: Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Panleukopenia and Rabies. Documentation is required upon admittance.

Our rates for boarding your feline loved one is $12 per night.  A family of 2 is $20, a family of 3 is $28.  Family rates only apply if guests stay in the same kennel.

General Boarding Information

An extensive intake form can be filled out prior to your arrival ( Canine | Feline).  This will allow us to learn as much about your pet as possible to ensure a comfortable and safe stay.

If your pet falls ill during their stay, every effort will be made to contact your “emergency contact”.  If we are unable to contact that person, your pet will be taken to Cranbrook Veterinary hospital or Steeples Veterinary hospital at the pet owners expense.

Our goal is to make your pet as comfortable as possible.  We strive to know your pet and provide them with a home away from home experience.
